This magically translocated Arctic wilderness is complete with polar bears, seals, walruses, whales and other marine life. Environmentally safe glacial ice floes, snow, dripping icicles, tunnels of real and simulated ice, ships broken and imprisoned by the treacherous glacier, rolling fog, and sound effects all help transport visitors to an authentic polar environment.
Using some of today's most innovative techniques, ROCK & WATERSCAPE INTERNATIONAL created overlapping environmental layers to deliver maximum realism. Nearly 60,000 sq. ft. of UV- resistant ice, snow, and glacial rock-up to 40 feet tall-were recreated using castings and hand-carved concrete, washed and eroded to simulate windblown snow and polar ice. A natural crystal was used in the finishes to replicate the glitter of actual ice and snow formations. A special drip system makes 1,500 artificial hybrid resin icicles appear to be melting. Rocking ice floes-favored polar bear playgrounds-bob above cobble marine floors, host to starfish, anemones, sponges, and coral encrustation. And shipwrecks above and below water feature twisted, frozen, warped planks, and splintered edges-a masterful blend of simulated wood and crafted artifacts. |
